Just a little note

We are doing fine here.  We are sad about what happened in Paris and other places around the world.  We have had some good weather here the last few weeks.  Today it's not so good, though.  Cold and rainy.  We did have a lovely visit with an American couple from Austin.  The husband came to teach at Emanuel a University for 2 weeks, and the wife tagged along.  We shared meals and rides to church, and they were just an awesome, sweet couple, who loved on our kids, too.  We did not know them before we came here, but we hope to see them when we get back to Austin.  One of our trips together was to a village church, where the husband preached on one of my favorite passages, Micah 6:8.  Our family led some singing, and we had a wonderful traditional Romanian meal with the pastor of the church and his wife.

Our days are still busy with schooling.  We decided that the private school was not a good fit for us, so we are continuing on with our homeschooling.  Our oldest is taking one of Sam's classes at Emanuel University (Critical Thinking), a free music history class from MIT, and Sam is teaching him statistics. Our Calculus book never arrived, and neither did the books Sam sent through the state department.  Sam says they are probably in a warehouse somewhere, and that reminds me of the last scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Care packages from the Women's Bible Studay at Park Hills did arrive.  I am so thankful for these women and their thoughtfulness!  Now I have standard measuring cups and spoons!  It was okay trying to convert to metric, but different websites said different things, so I was just never sure if I was using the right amount.  Now I know.  Fulbright suggested bringing your favorite cookbook or kitchen appliances, but I was very concerned about having enough clothes for everyone, especially because my kids won't be the same size next summer, that I didn't think I could bring things for cooking.  I probably did have some space for that, but it was hard to know how many suitcases we were going to use, how full they would be, how much they would weigh...  I guess that's all for now.  It's getting late here.
