Well, after much shuffling, walking, carrying, stumbling, sitting and baby holding, we are in Romania safe and sound! We are thankful to everyone who helped us during our harried final days and hours in Austin, Texas as we emptied our house and put it on the market while preparing to move to Romania for a year.
For those of you who are late to the party, Sam received a Fulbright award to teach for nine months in Cluj, Romania at Babes-Bolyai University. We are living in Oradea, Romania where Sam will also be assisting Emanuel University of Oradea with administration duties.
The trip was uneventful (just the way we like them). We flew from Austin-to-Chicago-to-Frankfurt-to-Budapest. Here is our little Joshua and big Elijah joining the ranks of exhausted international travelers:
And of course joining those travelers who "play" too while abroad (well at least at the Frankfurt airport)...
We flew to Budapest as it is closest to Oradea. We spent our first day in Europe walking along the Danube in this beautiful city.
Emanuel University sent a van to pick us up the next day (after some yummy Mediterranean food for lunch and fantastic pho for dinner) and took us to Oradea (where of course we had fun as road trips are always awesome).
We are now safe and sound in our new home. We had a great first full day in our new house unpacking and we will be posting as often as possible given our new world. Thank you again for everyone's help and support! We love you all and look forward to a fantastic year in Romania!!
